The initiative seeks to identify, recognize and support innovative projects that help to improve processes in the different links of the fruit and vegetable production chain.

San Miguel has launched the second edition of Eureka, a contest that rewards the most innovative proposals by entrepreneurs and startups for agricultural industry in Argentina and Uruguay. Driven by the entrepreneurial community Inicia, Eureka seeks to identify, recognize and support entrepreneurs or startups - operating or with a Minimum Viable Product - that submit innovative projects in the fruit and vegetable production chain.

Proposals may be submitted until February 15, 2022 and must be related to any of the three verticals that support the contest: AgTech (new technologies, implements, apps or software applied to primary citrus production), Smart Processes (impact on measurement, optimization and improvements in processing plants) and Positive Impact (at the economic, social and environmental level).

The first prize consists of $500,000 of seed capital, connection rounds with the company and incubation for three months (mentoring, training and networks for strengthening entrepreneurship), while the second prize consists of $300,000 of seed capital, in addition to the connection rounds with the company and incubation for three months. The project that wins the third place will also have access to connection rounds and incubation.

The names of the 15 finalists will be announced on February 28 and the workshops with entrepreneurs and startups will be held in March. The Demo Day, the pitching event and the award ceremony will be held on March 30. The winners will be incubated between April and June 2022 and will have their connection rounds with the company.
