On World Lemon Day, we share its many uses and combinations to enhance countless products of our daily lives.

This citrus -as fresh fruit or as a natural ingredient derived from lemon- contributes to enhance recipes, home remedies and products from the culinary, health and wellbeing world.

In many recipes around the world, like meals, desserts or cocktails, lemon is one of the most outstanding ingredients. It is key to prepare fish in Peru (in ceviche for example) or to make Indian chicken. Lemon is a must-have ingredient in guacamole, the traditional Mexican dish. Of course, it is also the star of lemon pie, a very popular dessert in the US, as well as the gin tonic, a classic English cocktail.

When it comes to health, due to its wide variety of vitamins and minerals, lemon helps strengthen our immune system and prevents cellular aging. While the presence of antioxidants inhibits the formation of free radicals, its high content of vitamin C favors the absorption of iron and contributes to the proper functioning of the cardiovascular system. One of the most common ways to enhance its properties is by combining it with green tea, a deeply rooted custom in Chinese and Japanese cultures to help digestion.

Lemon also makes perfect duos in domestic hygiene and well-being. Based on the essential oils, juices and pulps that are made from this fruit, we enjoy lemon in a large number of products of our day-to-day life. Its signature fragrance is present in scented candles or sprays that are of great help to fight stress and improve the state of mind. In bathrooms and kitchens we find lemon as an essential ingredient in toothpastes, creams, soaps and detergents.

To celebrate World Lemon Day -that is on September 30th- we share a guamacole with a twist on its traditional recipe to share with nachos, tacos or fajitas.
