With the sight set on improving the quality of life for the children of our communities, we start a new series of workshops of the program intended to improve child nutrition.
Together with Fundación Banco de Alimentos, we developed the Rural Nutrition initiative with the mission to promote healthy eating for more than 1,400 children and their families in Tucumán, Argentina.
Through this program, we donate food as well as we provide training on nutritional topics to volunteer cooks, teachers, students and parents so that they may acquire good practices, knowledge and healthy habits in their daily lives.
At the same time, we carry out nutritional assessments on the students at the beginning and the end of the year in order to analyze their status and detect critical cases of malnutrition or obesity. On specific cases, diet is adapted as required.
Aligned with the Sustainable Development goals, San Miguel promotes initiatives in our communities such as the Rural Nutrition program to contribute to the goals of zero hunger, reduction of poverty and end of poverty proposed by the United Nations.
