Environment
We use natural resources consciously and with responsibility
Committed to our environment in each of the regions where we perform our production activities, we take care of natural resources and protect native ecosystems.
Climate Action Plan
The Climate Action Plan is our 10-year initiative launched in 2020, reflecting our commitment to the sustainable management of natural resources and the reduction of our carbon footprint.
The Plan includes the use of renewable energy, the preservation of over 6,000 hectares of native forest—which serves as a CO2 sink—and the measurement of the Global Greenhouse Gas Inventory, through which we identify and implement improvements.
We Use Natural Resources Responsibly: 2023 Highlights
Renewable Energy
Argentina
We achieved peaks of 100% renewable energy supply.
71% of our electricity came from wind energy sources.
We exceeded the target set by the Renewable Energy Law, which requires 20% of electricity demand to be supplied by renewable sources produced in the country by 2025.
Uruguay
We use 100% clean energy in our energy matrix.
Native Forests
Argentina
We conducted a deforestation analysis that shows no significant changes in forest areas between 2010 and 2023. This monitoring was carried out in collaboration with the Subdirectorate of Territorial Forest Management of the Directorate of Flora, Wildlife, and Soils of the Government of Tucumán, and the ProYungas Foundation.
Uruguay
We designed a land-use plan for over 400 hectares of our productive surface in the Northern Zone to establish permitted activities and sustainably manage water resources.
We conducted biodiversity monitoring and prepared a report on its status to assess the environmental impact of our activities and track the condition of conservation areas.
From the analysis of the results, no environmental issues associated with our activities were identified.
Greenhouse Gas Inventory
Argentina
As every year, we conducted air quality and particulate matter analysis at our industrial plant in collaboration with the Obispo Colombres Agroindustrial Experimental Station in Tucumán to monitor our atmospheric emissions.
Uruguay
For the first time, we carried out a comprehensive analysis of air quality and atmospheric emissions at our industrial plant in Paysandú.
You can view all the progress in our 2023 Report.
